Mark Dinner
Mark Dinner is CIO and founder of ICW, an investment firm with the mission of helping sophisticated investors and families preserve and compound wealth across generations.
Prior to founding ICW in 2021, Mark spent 12+ years at Bridgewater Associates, the world’s largest macro hedge fund. There he co-led Ray Dalio’s investment research team, and later helped oversee the portfolio Ray initially built to invest his own savings, the All Weather Portfolio (which became Bridgewater’s optimal strategic asset allocation). ICW's flagship strategy is Strategic Equities, a macro global equity strategy focused on owning the best companies in the world, in a balanced way across economic environments.
As Co-Head of Ray Dalio’s investment research team for the better half of the decade, Mark focused on studying debt crises, what drives future growth, and bubbles and busts, and built investment systems with Ray (and others) to trade through these periods. This research was also featured in research memos for the most influential policy makers globally, and investment memos for the most sophisticated and largest pools of capital in the world. Following that experience, Mark became responsible for helping to oversee and evolve: first Bridgewater’s commodity systems, and then the All Weather Portfolio (a roughly $85bn fund at the time).
Previously, Mark worked for several years in Bridgewater’s Client Services group, leading the investment analytics team that provided insight to Bridgewater’s sovereign wealth clients in the Middle East and Asia, and before that was a strategy consultant at Monitor Group (in Johannesburg and Cambridge, MA).
Mark graduated Yale magna cum laude with majors in history and economics, and received his MBA with distinction from the Yale School of Management as a Silver Scholar.
